TATTOO COMPETITION
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. MULTIPLE CATEGORY ENTRIES
The same tattoo may be entered in multiple categories, provided it meets the requirements of each category.
Each entry must be appropriate for the category in which it is registered.
The organizers reserve the right to refuse an entry that does not meet the requirements of a selected category.
2. REGULAR TATTOO CATEGORIES – FRESH OR HEALED
All regular tattoo categories accept both fresh and healed tattoos.
A tattoo does not have to be completed during the Expo to enter a regular category.
Special rules apply to Tattoo of the Day, Best Collaboration, and Best of Show.
3. CORRECT CATEGORY
Each tattoo must meet the requirements of the category in which it is entered.
The organizers reserve the right to transfer or refuse an entry that clearly does not qualify for the selected category.
4. ARTIST REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT
The tattoo must have been completed by a tattoo artist officially registered as a participant in the Tattoo Expo Rive Sud – Horror Edition 2027.
5. TATTOO OF THE DAY
The tattoo must be started and completed at the Expo on the same day it is entered.
No tattoo may be started before the official opening of the Expo on that competition day.
Participants have until the official start time of the Tattoo of the Day competition to complete their tattoo.
The tattoo must be fully completed before the Tattoo of the Day category begins. Tattoos still being worked on once the category begins will not be eligible.
Tattoos started before the applicable competition day are not eligible for Tattoo of the Day.
6. BEST OF SHOW
The tattoo must be created and completed by ONE tattoo artist only.
Collaboration tattoos are NOT eligible for Best of Show.
The tattoo must have been started and completed during the Tattoo Expo Rive Sud – Horror Edition 2027 weekend.
Eligibility will be verified before judging.
7. BEST COLLABORATION
A collaboration tattoo must involve a minimum of two tattoo artists working on the same tattoo.
Collaboration tattoos have their own dedicated competition category.
Collaboration tattoos cannot be entered in Best of Show.
The Best Collaboration competition will take place at the end of the convention weekend.
8. REGISTRATION DEADLINES
All tattoo competition entries must be registered before the registration deadline indicated on the official Expo schedule.
Participants are responsible for verifying the registration and competition times for their category.
Late entries will not be accepted once registration for that category has closed.
9. MODEL PRESENCE
The person wearing the tattoo must be physically present for judging.
The tattoo must be clearly visible and accessible for inspection by the judges.
10. JUDGING
Tattoos may be evaluated on:
Technical execution
Line work
Saturation
Shading
Composition
Readability
Creativity
Overall quality
All judges’ decisions are final.
11. RESPECT & PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
Participants must remain respectful toward judges, staff, artists, competitors, and attendees.
Interference with the judging process will not be tolerated.
12. DISQUALIFICATION
Failure to comply with the competition rules may result in disqualification.
The Tattoo Expo Rive Sud – Horror Edition reserves the right to refuse or disqualify any entry that does not meet the competition requirements.
